Laci B I've discovered the reason I will never grow up. This is deep, better prepare yourselves. When I was younger and in high school it wasn't cool to be a geek. We were the ones always getting made fun of and picked on, the ones getting laughed at for playing magic, etc. (You know who you guys are tongue emoticon ) If you were different from the "norm" you were always the butt of the jokes, the one that would never do anything with your life, the loser. Now, since I have grown ... up, had children of my own, I've tried to teach them it's ok to not be normal. Us geeks have more fun! We geek over Harry Potter, Hobbit, LOTR, Supernatural, and anything else we could possibly geek over. And all of that is find and dandy because we are happy. But the reason I will never grow up, is because now that I should be a responsible adult, now that I have gotten older and should do things that normal adults do, like pay taxes and drink coffee and read the paper, it has become cool to be a geek... WHAT!? Yes, geeks are now the master race. They are now the cool kids. It's more acceptable to geek out over something. So why did it have to happen when I was already this old? I don't know, and honestly I don't care because I'm gonna keep on geeking out on things until I'm too old to remember what anyone's name is and I have to have someone change my diaper. Even then, when I'm in my own little world inside my head, all my fandom characters will probably be there with me! Moral of the story? Don't ever let anyone dull your inner geek!!! 8-|
